Space travel.
The fascinating and sinister nature of mans exploration of the big unknown had always a strong impact on popular culture. The anxiety of being years without the feeling of fresh wind in your face, dependent on a complex machinery of life preserving systems, psychological issues to handle with crewmates and millions of kilometres to go…

The stories written by Stanisław Lem are full of these real life struggles and authenticity. The 1963 Czechoslovakian film Ikarie XB 1 was inspired by his book The Magellanic Cloud, as in the year 2163 a crew of cosmonauts sets to search for life in the Alpha Centauri system. On their way they encounter an abandoned space ship from the 20th century full of nuclear weapons, this being a relict of unfortunate times… The movie made a huge impression on the critics and inspired a generation of filmmakers, the 2001:Space Odyssey from behind the iron curtain.

The sounddesing and movie inspired us to make this a track, with some of the original noises used for the composition. Upcoming on the Anthropoid 03 release.
